Preserving tradition –
shaping the future

Dear colleagues,
ladies and gentlemen,

It is with great pleasure that, also on behalf of the Executive Board, I invite you to the 64th Annual Meeting of the German Society of Nuclear Medicine, which will take place in Münster from 22 to 25 April 2026.

For me personally, this conference is very special in several respects: As Congress Chair of the German Society of Nuclear Medicine, it is a particular pleasure for me to be able to organise the Annual Meeting in Münster – a true home game. At the same time, we look back on a remarkable anniversary: Exactly 30 years ago, in 1996, Münster last hosted our Annual Meeting. Much has changed since then – both in our discipline and in the city.

Under the motto „Preserving tradition – shaping the future“, we deliberately aim to bridge the gap between our origins and new beginnings, between experience and innovation at this conference. Nuclear medicine is undergoing dynamic development: New diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, innovative radiopharmaceuticals and the use of digital technologies are opening up opportunities that would have been unthinkable just a few years ago. It is becoming clear that progress is always also a team effort – across disciplines, generations and institutions.

Münster, with its long-established university, vibrant research landscape and special charm, provides the ideal setting for exchange, encounters and shared learning. Let us use this space to generate new impetus, share ideas and actively help shape the future path of nuclear medicine.

I warmly invite you to be part of this special conference – whether through scientific contributions, professional dialogue or personal encounters on site. I look forward to exciting days in Münster and to seeing you again among our committed professional society.

With kind regards

Prof. Dr. Kambiz Rahbar
Congress Chair and Head of the Scientific Committee
